8×10” Watercolour Pencils on paper
I have seen Carrie Bickmore on TV for years – firstly presenting humorous news on ‘Rove Live’ then presenting real news on ‘The 7pm Project’ with Charlie Pickering and Dave Hughes, and now on ‘The Project’ with Waleed Aly and Pete Helliar. They present the news in a refreshing, light-hearted way highlighting many serious issues, in a gentle manner. And they make me laugh.
Carrie is also the founder of ‘Beanies For Brain Cancer’, a foundation to raise money for Brain Cancer research, after the passing of her husband. This cause is special to me.
I have the utmost respect for Carrie and The Project team and appreciate them bringing me news of the outside world, and entertaining me.
I enjoyed creating this portrait from a screen shot of Carrie, traced using a light box, with watercolour pencils then a wash of water.
