I’m absolutely in LOVE with Taylor Swift’s new album ‘Life of a Showgirl’. It is a mature, exuberant celebration of life with musical hooks that fill me with absolute awe. My favourite tracks are ‘Opalite’ – celebrating gratitude for manmade happiness and beauty – and ‘Fate of Ophelia’, thanking love for saving her from a fate of dying of heartbreak like Hamlet’s Ophelia. The mood of the songs truly resonates with my life at present: radiating joy with gratitude, vibrant colour, beauty and awe.
In Jan 2025 I drew Taylor Swift from my alltime favourite photo of her meditating at the Eras Tour in Melbourne, 2024, taken by my beloved nibling Tahleya Brown. It shows a moment of profound connection, and collective effervescence experienced by millions all over the world. It is so powerFULL. Connecting with Taylor and Tahleya through this moment is so profoundly special.
I made the portrait into a shirt, took a photo of myself meditating while wearing the shirt, drew it, then made cards I sent to several politicians and several friends who are struggling with cancer, saying I hold them with me in my meditations.
Both portraits feature in my ‘Rainbow Bubbles of Collective Effervescence’ art display now showing from 10am – 3pm daily at Montville Reflection Gallery, 152 Main St Montville, QLD, Australia until 29th Nov 2025.
It is so absolutely incredible to be alive at this moment in history, to witness the joy of experiencing the album the moment it was released, in collective effervescence with fans all around the world!
