Several friends and niblings (gender neutral term for nieces and nephews) have been facing deep suffering. I have been pondering the place of pain and suffering in this world and my own experience with it. This poetic analogy ‘You will see the stars’ came to me: My friends and niblings are all stars through my darkness.
Dear friends, I hope you, too, can tap into your comforting spirit within, and I hope you can see the stars and focus on that light. You are never alone. I am with you, Spirit is within you, and you are deeply loved.

And then, a little voice
within me, whispered:
Do Not Be Afraid
little darling…
Yes, there will be
darkness…
But through the dark
I promise
You will see
the stars…
And the stars
will light
your way…
