My favourite singer, Emma Dean’s choir Cheep Trill Choir is performing their original musical ‘Community Choir: the Musical’ at La Boite Theatre for Brisbane Festival Wed 23-Sat 26th Sept, 2026. Two very cool versions of the soundtrack are out now by the Southside and Northside Casts (on Spotify and Apple Music, under her name, Emma Dean)!
Somehow, miraculously, last year I was able to attend the original showing of ‘Community Choir: the Musical’ with my friend and carer, Alex. It took months to recover from sitting up even using the wheelchair at a matinee showing, but it was AMAZING, a highlight to my life, and soooo worth it to ‘choose my pain’. This year I wasn’t well enough to book tix due to my fibromyalgia and ME/CFS, but now I am also recovering from COVID!
Last year I drew Emma Dean in her ‘Choir Nerd’ promo shot and made tshirts for Emma and her twins. I also drew the whole cast and made a zine that was given to them all to celebrate the musical. This year I made a shirt for myself!
Emma and Cheep Trill, ‘I Am With You’ in spirit, cheering you on! I hope the performances go amazingly and thank you for the sound track so I can bliss out to it from my bed! Choir nerds unite!!!
